Norden International School

"The greatest luck in a person's life
is to encounter a good teacher."

An English-medium primary and secondary school in Malmi, Helsinki — welcoming children from around the world since 2013.

Norden International School — a classroom in Helsinki

A small Finnish school, taught in English.

We opened in August 2013 as Kielo International School and renamed to Norden to reflect our Nordic identity. Thirteen years in, the school remains small by design — we grew the staff, never the class sizes.

Norden follows the Finnish national curriculum, delivered entirely in English. Finnish is taught alongside as a subject, in line with national requirements.

Norden classroom

Applying to Norden — three steps.

We accept new students throughout the year when places are available. Most families decide whether Norden is right for them by visiting in person first.

Tuition 2026–27: €9,850 primary · €11,750 secondary (+ Finnish VAT). One-time €750 registration, books €500/year, 5% sibling discount.

Why we run a school.

Our mission is to provide high-quality education within an international, inquiring and supportive environment. We seek to inspire students and equip them with the skills to fulfil their potential — as people who can think clearly, work hard, and live generously with others.
